Dreams and Conspiracies
Dreamy clouds don't exist,
Nor do those starry nights;
Look around son, at the dirt below,
'Cause dead men tell no tales,
Dead men tell no lies.
Don't sway away with the faceless priest,
Preaching the twisted fables and foolish stories;
Of a god that failed long ago,
From hopes that died even before,
Of a god that died long ago.
Fear your mother's smile, my son,
Dread your father's heart, my son;
Sleep tight with blank screen ahead,
Your breathless silence is the truest,
But our lies are truer, my son
Wish your enemies death and good fortune;
Your lover, a future full of miseries;
Wish and wish and dream those dreams,
Your wishful conspiracies,
Your absolute fallacies.
So prepare your mask tonight
If you could
See those hopeful mornings,
Flawless dusks and dawns;
Those calming full moon nights,
Hear those chirps and chatter
Of children and birds alike.
Laugh away all your frights
Be the one
With the brightest smile
Like the sun;
In that case your mask is right,
I am but your mask, my son

My Dear Sunshine
Oh, My Dear Sunshine
I am waiting in the,
The sapphire ocean.
Fighting all the winds above
And all the winds and them above.
Searching for islands, the end of time
Don't know how to swim, Sunshine.
I have done my best to claim
And reclaim the roads that
Were always and always mine.
I've leapt and run and run,
Every day and every night.
Tired of pushing myself ahead
And of crossing the sun, sunshine.
The wave is too strong this time.
I have come from far, sunshine.
Don't know how to cry, sunshine
Every night is long, sunshine.
I've come to try, I've come to win
Every moment of this day, sunshine.
Mother says it's alright, sunshine
Still why don't you rhyme, sunshine.
Don't know how to fail, sunshine
Why don't you rain, sunshine?

Wings to Sail
On a heap of sand
On a shore somewhere, somewhere,
Reminding myself, of a victory lost
Of the seagulls as they fly away
Caught their bait, next sea to sail
As they fly away.
Beleaguered, unsure what to do
What to say.
Others devoid of wings, so they say.
Nor were their wings bigger,
Or their sails taller.
Less than equal did they will or
much stronger, who's to say?
Yet, winners are those who flew away.
The strokes of waves that washed it away
Many perfect castles stand on the shore,
Undeterred by the waves, Of those
Who flew away.
Unto the great seas beyond, after all
Not having wings I sail ahead,
Towards a shore, someday
To fail better again
And who's to say,
Winners are those who sail away.

Reminiscent
I recall the days,
When the sky was brighter
Omnipresent symphony
On faces countless,
Ebullience was real.
Future didn't exist
Still, hopes were higher
Sun actually shined,
And every scenery
Was another reality.
I do miss and reminisce
Those days when there wasn't
a past to remember.
But in this sorrow,
I'm better off and
Better off without those days,
Nor to return would I wish.
For in this sorrow,
I shall dwell and perish.

Do Cicadas Cry?
Silence,
Far and wide.
Among the cool winds of north,
There's a cry. I think it's a cry.
It emits from the trees but why,
Do Cicadas cry?
Is it a cry of sadness,
Or pain of some unknown kind.
Is it a cry to convey a message,
Or is it even a cry?
Why today?
Why now?
Do they know I'm listening,
That I can hear them cry?
Is it an omen uncomprehended,
That they want me to know?
What happens when they cry?
I know I won't notice it
Ever again. The cry will just
Blend into the noise.
Sound of life.
So I walk past all of it,
Nonchalantly leaving the cry,
Unreplied.
The cry became a sound unnoticed,
The sound fades away
As a noise of nigh.
And then I even forget,
Do Cicadas cry?
When I walked past the cicadas,
When I walked past their cry.
